Fracture analysis is a problem playing fundamental role in the fields of Aerospace Mechanics and Structural Mechanics. The paper deals with most essential among fracture problems: one-dimensional crack double cantilever beam. report presents reliable analytical method to correctly partition energy release rates into pure modes, appliable both isotropic composite beams clearly known mechanical properties, subject shearing or bending loads. adopted strategy based on Timoshenko’s kinematic model exploits theoretical definition I II rate modes. Following this study, promising expansion outlined approach introduced. obtained, innovative only requires geometrical features beam for partitioning rate. concluding pages uncover underlying principles complexities problem, presenting development general any kind load. All proposed methods have been extensively validated against numerous numerical solutions, proving themselves be valid alternative computational expensive FEM codes.
